MOTET at MEOW WOLF

MOTET - 3/31/18 Meow Wolf, Santa Fe, NM - Frontman Lyle Divinsky has most definitely upped the Motet's live game.  They have always been a formidable musical force, but Divinsky's antics draw the crowd into their world from the start and holds their attention, even if they're not jam fans.  The Motet has evolved into a retro-70s-funk outfit who still jam, but now the emphasis is more on songs.  Crowd favorites included a Parliament song (Handcuffs) and a Prince song (I Feel for You) via Chaka Khan.  Props to newest member of the Motet, trumpeter Parris Fleming, for keeping pace with the old pros.  This combo is, at long last, ready for the big time.
