Great googly-moogly! Widespread Panic was hitting on all cylinders last weekend and THIS year we didn't get rained on (much). I lost track of how many times in the 2nd set I thought, "This is the greatest version of _______ I ever heard!" This band has reached mythical beast status and absolutely crushed every single one of us. They are a fearsome locomotive that will not stop until we are all reduced to quivering goo. My personal highlights included: "One Arm Steve," "The Take Out > Porch Song," "Thought Sausage," and "Surprise Valley > Hatfield > Ride Me High > Second Skin > Surprise Valley." That Surprise Valley sandwich melted my brain. I can't remember there ever being 2 J.J. Cales AND 2 Talking Heads in the same set. Glorious.
