From the promoter:
Albuquerque, NM – The B-Side Players will stop at Low Spirits on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012 for a 21+ show. DJ Speed One provides support. Advance tickets are $12 plus service fees and are available at www.lowspiritslive.com.
The B-Side Players continue to hold their own as world music heavyweights with their 10th album, released last summer. The group has been laying down their own inimitable Latin global funk since 1994. Revolutionize combines their organic Latin funk blend with reggae, cumbia and soul, served up with a message of unity and liberation. Their catalog showcases a band with restless musical intelligence, effortlessly blending genres to fashion their own forward looking music. The 8-piece band is known for igniting crowds with their fierce rhythms and uplifting messages, while keeping their focus on the local and global political climate.
With their incendiary live shows, The B-Side Players have come to be known as local favorites in San Diego, earning 10 San Diego Music awards. The group worked with legendary percussionist Poncho Sanchez for Revolutionize, as well as guitarist Raul Pacheco (Ozomatli) and drummer Ryan Moran (Slightly Stoopid). The group is the brainchild of Karlos Paez (son of Los Moonlights' and La Banda Del Recodo's Ezequiel Paez). Their eclectic style and positive outlook have set them up to tour with a vast variety of musicians, from Ben Harper to Papa Roach. As they've seen the evolution of southern California over the last two decades, they've kept their local connections which inform their outlook. Ultimately, the B-Side Players are a living and breathing cultural art experience for the mind body and soul.
